Focused Care

Nurse practitioners evaluation in bright office

Focused care is designed for individuals seeking a one-time, comprehensive mental health evaluation for a specific purpose, rather than ongoing treatment.

During this visit, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner conducts a thorough clinical assessment, reviews relevant history, and provides an independent medical opinion based on professional standards of care. When clinically appropriate, documentation may be completed to support the identified need.

Please note that completion of forms or letters is not guaranteed and is based solely on clinical findings and professional judgment.

Medical Leave Evaluation

An evaluation to determine whether a mental health condition may qualify for leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

A comprehensive clinical assessment is conducted, including symptom review, functional impact, and relevant history. Documentation is completed when clinically appropriate and based on professional judgment.

Emotional Support Animal Evaluation

This assessment is used to determine whether an emotional support animal may be clinically beneficial for a diagnosed mental health condition.

A comprehensive evaluation of emotional and psychological needs, level of impairment, and potential benefit of an ESA is completed. Letters are issued only when supported by clinical findings and applicable guidelines.

Genetic Testing

Genetic testing is an optional tool that helps guide medication selection by identifying how your body may process and respond to certain medications.  It can provide additional insight when starting or when previous treatments have been ineffective or difficult to tolerate.

The process is simple and involves a non-invasive cheek swab collection in the office or at home.

Accommodation Evaluation

An accommodation evaluation is an assessment to determine whether a mental health condition or symptoms may support the need for accommodations in work or academic settings.

The evaluation examines functional limitations and environmental demands.  Recommendations, if appropriate, are based on documented clinical need and professional standards.
